  4. Plan M
    • Can go into effect for 2014-2015 school year.
    • Easy to implement or cancel.
    • Potential for further reform in terms of perception of Council.
    • Should not assume more participation.
    • Schedule has been static for a long time.
    • Periods will be too short - only three full learning periods per week.
    • Long break gives opportunity for one-on-one instruction.
    • More accessible place for Council.
    • Benefit for Council vs. detriment for student body?
    • Motion to amend the motion to add the following paragraph: a club, with Council members in its membership and only one meeting per week, may not hold this meeting in the Wednesday block. In the same spirit, staff may not schedule meetings intended for a class or group within a class (such as SAT2 or AP review, field trip planning sessions, etc.) if that class/group has Council members on its roster.
      • Lean too much towards Council.
      • Debate closes.
      • Motion to amend fails.

Meeting adjourns.
